Industry NewsOSSIO opens US headquarters in Florida with 100-job commitment
OSSIO Inc., an Israel-founded medical technology company specialising in bio-integrative, metal-free fixation implants for orthopedic surgery, has officially opened its US headquarters in Manatee County's City of Palmetto, Florida. The company expects to create approximately 100 new jobs over the next five years, focusing on production, commercial and administrative staff, with recruitment for initial roles commencing in January.
According to businesswire, Florida Lieutenant Governor Jay Collins and more than 50 business, government and healthcare leaders attended the grand opening ceremony at the 30,000 square foot facility. The site houses a state-of-the-art product manufacturing plant and surgeon training centre designed to bring hundreds of orthopedic surgeons to the Gulf Coast annually.
CEO Brian Verrier said OSSIO selected Florida to expand its operations, which began in Israel in 2014, because of the state's compelling combination of technical talent and economic incentives to support sustainable growth. He added that the company feels very welcome in Florida and looks forward to driving ambitious growth plans from the new headquarters.
Lieutenant Governor Collins said Florida continues to be a destination of choice for innovative companies transforming the future of healthcare. He noted that OSSIO's decision to establish its US headquarters in Palmetto reflects Florida's strong workforce, pro-growth environment and commitment to supporting advanced manufacturing and medical innovation.
Mark Glickman, president and chief executive of BioFlorida, said OSSIO represents exactly the kind of innovative, patient-focused company that continues to strengthen Florida's position as a national powerhouse in medical technology. The company's decision to locate advanced manufacturing and surgeon training in Florida speaks to the depth of talent and strength of the state's life sciences ecosystem.
