Norco grows private healthcare footprint with Petersen Medical

Norco, an employee-owned U.S. industrial gas distributor, has strengthened its private healthcare operations through the integration of Petersen Medical, a Utah-based home-healthcare provider. The move extends Norco Medical’s presence across northern Utah and neighbouring states.

Petersen Medical serves patients along the 105-mile Wasatch Front corridor, including Salt Lake City, Ogden, and Provo, as well as parts of Idaho, Colorado, and Nevada. The deal provides Norco Medical with an established patient base and operational infrastructure in a region where the company previously had limited coverage.

Norco operates 45 medical branches within a total network of 85 locations across both its medical and industrial gas divisions. The integration aligns with Norco’s strategy to broaden service capabilities and enhance patient access in the Northwest U.S.

Troy Johnson, Executive Vice-President of Norco Medical, highlighted the focus on operational continuity during the transition. “Our top priority is ensuring that patients and partners experience a unified transition and uninterrupted access to care … This acquisition strengthens our ability to deliver on that promise every day,” he said.

The integration of Petersen Medical adds clinical support and logistical capabilities, enabling Norco to deliver home-healthcare services across a wider geographic area. It also positions the company to leverage existing infrastructure for future growth in the private healthcare sector.

The move reflects a broader trend among U.S.-based healthcare providers pursuing regional consolidation to enhance access and operational efficiency. Existing Petersen Medical patients maintain continuity of care while benefitting from Norco’s expanded resources and expertise.

This step also reinforces operational resilience for Norco’s medical division, ensuring consistent standards of patient care across the enlarged network.
