The private healthcare sector in Ireland celebrated an evening of excellence as the inaugural Private Healthcare Awards 2024 took centre stage on October 3rd at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Santry. Hostedby Colm O’Regan, the prestigious event gathered top industry leaders to honour remarkable achievements across diverse healthcare specialities.

Key Highlights

Amongst fierce competition, Mater Private Network emerged as the standout winner, securing both the Overall Excellence Award and Private Hospital of the Year. With hospitals in Dublin, Cork, and Limerick specialising in cardiac care, orthopaedics, and cancer treatment, Mater Private Network demonstrates the evolving landscape of private healthcare in Ireland.

Chief Executive John Hurley shared his thoughts on the triumph, emphasising the dedication of the team across the network’s ten care centres. He stated, “This recognition is a testament to the collective effort and commitment of our staff... every member of our team plays a crucial role in making these standards of excellence possible.”

The event also underscored the importance of partnerships between private and public healthcare systems, helping to bring vital services closer to patients’ homes. Judging coordinator Ann Hogan noted, “Many of the services entering the awards are working alongside public providers to ensure patient-centred care, which is incredibly heartening to see.”

• Gold Standard Physiotherapy Clinics – Sports Injury Clinic of the Year
• Ailesbury Clinics – Cosmetic Clinic of the Year
• Vhi Hospital@Home – Best Use of Technology
• McCarthy Insurance Group – Best Corporate Healthcare Programme

Each accolade reflects a commitment to improving patient care, fostering innovation, and enhancing staff morale throughout the sector.
