Italian health technology company Dedalus has established a new Irish headquarters in Dublin's Northwood Business Park, advancing a €10 million investment programme announced last December.

According to a report by Silicon Republic, the new headquarters arrives seven months after Dedalus committed to hiring 100 workers in Ireland over four years, with the expansion focused on research, development, and innovation. The company is headquartered in Florence, Italy, and has partnered with the Irish health system for more than 30 years.

Dedalus Ireland holds contracts with major Irish hospitals including St James's, the Mater, Beaumont, and the Midwest Hospital Group, as well as community services across the country. Its healthcare appointments platform Swiftqueue manages more than four million medical appointments annually in Ireland, while globally the company provides software to more than 7,500 healthcare organisations and 5,700 laboratories and diagnostic centres.

The company's Irish operations provide software for electronic patient records, laboratory systems, and diagnostics, with the expanded Dublin base intended to grow Ireland-based expertise and capacity to support both the domestic healthcare landscape and Dedalus's wider European operations.

Cathy McCartan, executive director of Dedalus Ireland, said: "The opening of our new Irish headquarters marks an exciting new chapter for Dedalus in Ireland. We are proud of our long-standing partnership with the Irish healthcare system and remain committed to supporting its digital transformation, contributing to Dedalus's wider European operations from our growing Irish base."

As part of its talent development strategy, Dedalus is partnering with Generation Ireland, a non-profit organisation that supports workers seeking careers in the technology and green sectors. The partnership reflects the company's focus on building a pipeline of Ireland-based technical expertise capable of supporting both domestic and European healthcare technology requirements.

The establishment of a dedicated Irish headquarters, combined with a structured four-year hiring programme and a significant capital commitment, positions Dedalus as one of the more substantial international health technology investors currently active in the Irish market.
