Circle Health Group has begun refurbishment work on an X-ray room at The Park Hospital in Nottingham to install a new Fujifilm Healthcare UK FDR Visionary Suite. The project replaces an existing Wolverson X-ray system and is scheduled to run for nine weeks before the room returns to clinical use.

Work began following the bank holiday weekend with the removal of the existing X-ray system from X-ray Room 2, alongside the stripping out of mechanical and electrical services to prepare for installation.

The refurbishment will progress through equipment delivery, mechanical and electrical installation, system configuration, power-on and final physics checks before the new suite is brought into clinical use. The project is being delivered as an imaging refurbishment within the existing hospital rather than a new-build scheme, with no principal construction contractor publicly identified.

The FDR Visionary Suite is designed to improve workflow speed and image quality through automated positioning and Fujifilm's proprietary Irradiated Side Sampling detector technology, which reduces signal scattering to produce sharper images at lower X-ray doses. The system also supports 3D-enhanced digital tomosynthesis, generating multiple tomographic slices from a single sweep to help remove overlying structures that can obscure pathology.

Circle Health Group operates The Park Hospital as part of its national network of hospitals and clinics delivering medical, surgical, outpatient and diagnostic services across the UK. The Park Hospital provides X-ray, CT, MRI and ultrasound alongside its wider surgical and medical provision, positioning the imaging upgrade within a broader diagnostic offering at the site.

The structural driver behind the refurbishment is the ongoing replacement cycle for legacy imaging equipment across private hospital networks, as providers prioritise digital radiography systems that reduce patient dose while improving throughput.

For the sector, the upgrade confirms that private hospital groups continue to invest in diagnostic imaging infrastructure as a core part of maintaining clinical capacity across their networks.
