This award celebrates a healthcare provider that has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to staff development, career progression, and long-term retention. The winning organisation will showcase a holistic and strategic approach to employee growth, investing in continuous learning, leadership pathways, internal mobility, and retention initiatives that create a thriving and engaged workforce. Entry is by a 5-page A4 PDF submission; the judges will be looking for a clear plan and evidence that it is delivering on core objectives, paying particular attention to the criteria listed below.

  • Organisational Overview and Leadership: Outline the organisation’s mission and approach to staff development and retention, including leadership commitment and strategic workforce planning.
  • Career Development Programmes: Provide examples of structured training, mentorship, leadership pathways, or professional development initiatives that support career progression.
  • Internal Promotion & Retention Strategies: Demonstrate how the organisation supports staff in advancing their careers within the company, including promotion rates and retention statistics.
  • Employee Satisfaction & Workforce Stability: Showcase how staff engagement, wellbeing, and workplace culture contribute to long-term employee commitment.
  • Innovation in Training & Upskilling: Highlight any unique learning initiatives, partnerships with educational institutions, or technology used to enhance workforce development.
  • Impact & Measurable Success: Provide data and testimonials showing improvements in retention, internal promotions, staff satisfaction, or other key workforce metrics.
